ABOUT MEROSA ACADEMY ABUJA.

We are at Apo Abuja and Kubwa.

CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE

Dear Prospective Parents,

We are delighted that you are considering Merosa Academy for your child’s future. This institution has honed and fine-tuned a learning and life-skilling system that continues to amaze parents, delight pupils and encourage our teachers.

An investment made in a Merosa Academy education pays many dividends through life. From the moment your child enters the school gates, the child gets to realise who he or she is; and where their potential lies. Irrespective of their background or calibre, your child is groomed and nurtured in a way that your child can stride into the adult world, confidently, responsibly and independently.

In today’s world, no institution of repute and quality can afford to sit on its laurels. So, a decisive shift is being engineered that will help Merosa Academy gain a national reputation.

Of course, our greatest pride is in our children. Whether academically, on the field of sport, in performance arts or other personal achievements, inside or outside of school, we celebrate their development and successes, hoping that when they leave us to move on to the next stage of their lives they have been given an excellent grounding.

That is why the next five years, the focus will to be on academic excellence. This will help students get into the finest higher education institutions in Nigeria and around the world. The school’s big strength — knowledge balanced with character — will be supported in equal measure to enhance the school’s standing as one of the Best Schools in Nigeria.

The best way to see what we do is to come and see us doing it. We look forward to welcoming you.

Thanks

Dr. Augustine Igbuku PhD.

Founder and Chairman Merosa Academy Abuja.

MEROSA ACADEMY SCHOOL POLICIES

Policies are principles, rules, and guidelines formulated by an organization to reach its long-term goals. Our policies are:

Admission Policy: All admission is based on outstanding/average performance of the entrance examinations.

Discipline: Children are expected to abide by the school code of conduct, where there are flagrant violation, children will be disciplined appropriately. (No Corporal Punishment)

Use of verbal or abusive language is not permitted.

Fighting attracts immediate suspension.

Fire Policy: When the fire alarm sounds, everybody will immediately stop whatever they are doing and stand. Children will remain standing and wait for the adults to issue clear and precise instructions. Children will be required to walk through the nearest exit to the mustering point. At
the mustering points the pupils will line up in their normal class lines for rollcall. No member of the staff or any child will enter the building until it is safe to do so.

Home Work Policy: Homework will be given to pupils/students to either practice academic work done in school or to prepare for upcoming topics.

Safety Policy: We take safety very seriously. Children are not allowed to climb on or over any of the walls, gates or fences within the school premises. Children with long hair are guided to tie their hair back when using school equipment. This is particularly important during games and P.E. lessons
and when using some specialists’ equipment in science, art, food technology, laboratories etc.

Students will be properly supervised at all times, but levels and degrees of supervision will vary depending on the activities being undertaken and the ages of the children involved. There is scope for older pupils/students to take responsibility for younger and new children.

Policy on Visit: All visitors to the school must sign the visitor’s book unless they are recognized peripatetic teacher or parent helper. All visitors are required to first report to the reception office, who will grant access to the host.

Policy on School attendance and Late Coming: Late coming/arrival to school by pupils/students is a serious violation that is not condoned. All pupils are expected to stay from the beginning to the end of the term. If there are exigencies that may warrant your child to leave the school, a formal letter to the school is required. This will be followed by an approval from the School administrator.
